"Steamin' Billy" was originally the name of the house beer brewed for the Cow and Plough, Oadby, Leicester, named after the owners Jack Russell dog.
The Steamin' Billy Brewing Company was set up to lease and supply The Vaults in Leicester and The Robert Catesby in Norfolk, both real ale houses.
The company directors are Barry and Elizabeth Lount, who run the Cow & Plough (twice winner of "East Midlands Pub of the Year" in 1985, 1988).
Steamin' Billy beers are brewed on licence by Grainstore Brewery, Oakham.
